I help busy, high-functioning adults regulate their nervous systems through gentle, somatic-informed yoga and mind-body practices.
A Bit About Me
I’m Dr. Rebecca DiVerniero, founder of Sattva Yoga & Wellness. I support busy, high-functioning adults in calming their nervous systems and reconnecting with their bodies through gentle, somatic-informed yoga and mind-body practices.
With a Ph.D. in Interpersonal Communication and over 22 years of experience teaching in higher education, my background is rooted in understanding how stress, anxiety, and interpersonal dynamics affect both the mind and body. Over time, I saw that insight alone often isn’t enough—many people understand why they feel stressed, yet still struggle with chronic tension, overwhelm, or reactivity. This led me toward body-based, nervous-system–focused approaches that support regulation from the inside out.
My work is grounded in somatic principles that emphasize awareness, safety, and pacing. Rather than pushing the body or forcing relaxation, I help clients learn to notice sensation, build regulation gradually, and develop tools they can use before, during, and after stressful situations. This approach is especially supportive for individuals who tend to live “in their heads” and are looking for practical ways to feel more steady and at ease in daily life.
I am a certified yoga teacher with over 500 hours of training, including trauma-informed yoga and advanced teacher training. I also hold certification in somatic healing, which informs how I integrate nervous-system awareness, breathwork, gentle movement, and rest into both private sessions and group classes. My teaching style is slow, accessible, and choice-based, allowing clients to build trust with their bodies at their own pace.
In addition to yoga, I am trained in assisted stretching and Reiki energy healing, which further support relaxation, embodiment, and recovery from stress. These modalities are offered through a nervous-system–aware lens and are designed to complement—not replace—other forms of support clients may already be using.
If you’re feeling overextended, disconnected, or stuck in patterns of stress despite “doing all the right things,” my work offers a gentle, grounded way to come back into balance. I invite you to reach out with any questions or to explore whether this approach feels like a good fit for you.
